Flavia Nyakato has been appointed as the new General Manager of Greater Afrikan Radio.

From Grass to Grace. The Ugandan notable Humura Program host, popularly known as Owakajuma, has been appointed as the General Manager for the Mbarara city-based Greater Afrikan Radio.
Flavia Nyakato is a native of Masha Rwetango, Isingiro, and comes from a very humble family background. "Having come from a humble background, I had to work extra hard to achieve my goals, and everything I have is a result of my sweat, with the help of my late guardian, Father Karenzi," she quoted.
She is a lawyer by profession and a media enthusiast. Flavia Nyakato rose to fame at Endigito Radio, where she worked from 2014-2020, hosting the Ebaruha program and Court Yamaka. She was also a Television Presenter at GNTV, running the Okubyatandikire program and Amaziima Nigahi. From 2020-2023, she joined Eiraka Radio, an Ibanda-based radio station, doing the Humura program. In 2023-2024, she worked with Sky TV, hosting the Etabaza Program. From 2024-2025, she worked with Lite FM.
In mid-2025, she got a job at Mbabule FM as General Manager and worked for a few months before leaving under unclear circumstances to join Greater Afrikan Radio as General Manager.
Flavia Nyakato comes to her new role with some 13 years of experience in the local and international media scene. She has left remarkably solid footprints working with Eiraka Radio, Endigito Radio, Sky Television, and Mbabule FM.

Accordingly, under Nyakato's leadership, Greater Afrikan Radio is highly expected to be a more educative, informative, and entertaining radio station. This is clearly a recognition and acknowledgement of her experience, hard work, zeal, commitment, and loyalty by the Board and Management.
Flavia, as General Manager, will anchor Greater Afrikan Radio with a team of experienced professionals in the media landscape, providing a supporting role to take the network to the next level of excellence. Flavia Nyakato is expected to bring renewed verve, drive, and direction to continue positioning Greater Afrikan Radio as a leading credible news, educative, and entertaining network.
